6.2 Gypsum board floor coating
General
This coating work method is indicative and deals with the coating of a gypsum board floor with the ELAPROOF+SAND system. The ELAPROOF+SAND floor covering system consists of ELAPROOF PRIMER primer, ELAPROOF+SAND floor covering and ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL / ELACOAT TOPCOAT topcoat.
The coating work method is not a repair plan or a construction plan. The overall design of the coating is always the responsibility of the site-specific designer.
Platform refurbishment
In areas to be renovated, all possible moisture-sensitive adhesive residues must be removed from the gypsum board floor. Any loose floor screeds must also be removed in their entirety.
Any gaps between the boards, screw holes and cracks in the board surfaces must be filled / levelled with a floor level suitable for gypsum board surfaces. A floor level suitable for chipboard surfaces should also be used for possible over-levelling. When using screeds, also check with the floor screed manufacturer for a suitable primer.
Primer
Prior to coating, cleaned and repaired gypsum board substrates are primed with ELAPROOF PRIMER without the addition of water. Allow the primer to dry completely before applying ELAPROOF + SAND. The purpose of the primer is to seal the surface of the chipboard from the moisture released by the incoming coating.
Sealing
If necessary, all structural joints and boundary points such as floor and wall joints, bushings, columns and seals of any floor wells, etc. are implemented with a combination of ELAPROOF INDOOR + ELAPROOF BASE FABRIC.
ELAPROOF INDOOR must be mixed before starting the seals. Use a whisk in the mixer that does not take air into the sealant when mixing, eg COLLOMIX KR series mixing paddle.
Apply ELAPROOF INDOOR sealant with a brush and press ELAPROOF BASE FABRIC onto the fresh compound so that all air escapes under the support fabric. Apply another coat of ELAPROOF INDOOR.
Sealing of one running meter (1 rmt) requires approx. 0.15 l of ELAPROOF INDOOR.
If the sealable bushings allow the pre-formed bushing to be threaded over the bushing into a collar, the bushings can be shaped, if necessary, for example, by cutting from N1 or N2 category geo-textiles, unless the ELAPROOF BASE FABRIC is wide enough to carry the penetration. ELAPROOF ROOF series reinforcement fabrics, available in widths of 150 mm, 350 mm and 1000 mm, can also be used for seals.
Coating
Before starting the coating, the ELAPROOF+SAND floor covering must be mixed. Use a mixing paddle in the mixer that does not take air into the sealant when mixing, eg COLLOMIX KR series mixing paddle.
The primed substrate is coated with ELAPROOF+SAND (M1 / EC 1) floor coating. The coating is applied to the substrate with a steel spatula.
ELAPROOF+SAND floor covering is applied to the substrate in two separate applications. The consumption of each application must be at least approx. 2.0 kg / m2, in which case the total consumption is approx. 4.0 kg / m2. The actual dry film thickness must be min. 2.0 mm.
The drying time between coats of ELAPROOF+SAND depends largely on the conditions at the installation site. At conditions of approx. + 20 °C, 50% RH can be applied a second time approx. 5 h after the first application. Lower temperatures and higher humidity significantly extend the drying time.
The ELAPROOF+SAND floor covering applied twice can be applied after approx. 12 hours in conditions + 20 °C, 50 % RH.
Topcoat
The dried ELAPROOF coating is treated with clear ELACOAT TOPCOAT or tinted ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL topcoats to facilitate cleaning and maintenance. For monochromatic floors, we recommend topcoating with tinted ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL topcoat to even out any colour differences in the ELAPROOF+SAND coating. On flaked floors, we recommend flaking with ELAPROOF Art&Deco Colour Chips on wet ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL topcoat and, after drying, finishing with clear ELACOAT TOPCOAT topcoat.
In the topcoat, the topcoat component A is first mixed for 1 to 2 minutes, then the hardener component B is added to the mixed A component and mixed again for 2-3 minutes. Use, for example, the COLLOMIX KR series mixing paddle for mixing.
The mixture is applied on top of the dried ELAPROOF coating with a short-pile roller (6 – 7 mm) by cross-rolling. The consumption of the topcoat is approx. 110 – 200 g / m2 / application, depending on the degree of roughness of the selected ELAPROOF+SAND coating. The topcoat is dry to dry after approx. 16 h at + 20 °C, 50% RH. The full duration of mechanical stress is achieved under the above conditions in about 4 days and the full chemical duration in about 7 days.
NOTE! Some shades of ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL topcoats may require 2 to 3 coats to achieve sufficient coverage! See a separate table for the coverage of ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL topcoats.

6.3 Concreate floor coating
General
This coating work method is indicative and deals with the coating of a concreate floor with the ELAPROOF+SAND system. The ELAPROOF+SAND floor covering system consists of ELAPROOF PRIMER primer, ELAPROOF+SAND floor covering and ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL / ELACOAT TOPCOAT topcoat
The coating work method is not a repair plan or a construction plan. The overall design of the coating is always the responsibility of the site-specific designer.
Platform refurbishment
Adequate tensile and compressive strength is a key factor in the performance of coating materials. The concrete or screed substrate must be durable and have sufficient compressive strength.
The tensile strength of the substrate material is checked in accordance with EN 1542, and the tensile strength must be> 1.5 N / mm2 (1.5 MPa).
The compressive strength shall be checked in accordance with EN 12504-2, and the compressive strength shall be> 25 N / mm2 (25 MPa).
The substrate must be clean, sufficiently dry, and free of all contaminants such as dirt, oil, grease, weak coatings, and surface treatments.
If necessary, the weak layers are removed by sufficiently efficient mechanical methods such as grinding, milling, or blasting. In terms of coating, the best result is achieved if it is applied to a clean concrete surface with a roughness equivalent to a wood-ground concrete surface.
After cleaning, any cracks in the concrete floor are injected with injection resin meeting the EN 1504-5 standard, eg. HYDROPOX EP1.
Platform patching and levelling
Any cavities in the concrete surface are filled with a filling compound suitable for the coating combination before coating. If the concrete substrate to be coated has rough or uneven areas, they must be leveled with a leveling compound suitable for the coating combination. It should be noted that the irregularities tend to be visible on the coated surface.
Only special products that meet the above compressive and tensile strength requirements may be used to repair, straighten, and level the substrate. The suitability of the above products as a substrate for a liquid coating must always be ensured. from the product supplier.
Primer
Prior to coating, cleaned and repaired concreate substrates are primed with ELAPROOF PRIMER without the addition of water.
Possible connections to the floor drain are also made by cutting the floor drain grommet from N1 or N2 class geo-textile or by cutting the reinforcement fabric of the ELAPROOF ROOF series. The bushing is installed using or ELAPROOF INDOOR compound. Apply ELAPROOF INDOOR sealant with a brush and press the grommet onto the fresh compound so that all air escapes under the backing fabric. Apply another coat of ELAPROOF INDOOR. When the bushing has dried, cut a hole of a suitable size for the bushing and press the floor drain clamping ring into place before starting the ELAPROOF+SAND floor covering.

6.10 Parvekkeen/terassin vanerilattian pinnoitus ElaProof + Sand lattiapinnoitteella ENG
Pinnoituksen kokonaissuunnittelu on aina kohdekohtaisen suunnittelijan vastuulla.
Pohjustus
Ennen pinnoittamista vanerialusta pohjustetaan ELAPROOF PRIMER pohjusteella ilman vedenlisäystä. Pohjusteen annetaan kuivua kokonaan ennen tiivistysten ja ELAPROOF S pinnoituksen aloittamista. Pohjusteen tarkoitus on sulkea vanerin pinta päälle tulevan pinnoitteen luovuttamalta kosteudelta.
Tiivistykset
Pohjustuksen jälkeen ennen varsinaisen pinnoittamisen aloittamista toteutetaan lattiassa olevien yksityiskohtien silloitukset / tiivistykset.
Vanerialustassa olevat vanerilevyjen saumat silloitetaan ja tiivistetään ELAPROOF S + ELAPROOF TUKIKANGAS yhdistelmällä.
Vanerilattiassa olevat putkien läpiviennit tiivistetään ELAPROOF S + ELAPROOF TUKIKANGAS yhdistelmällä tai ELAPROOF S + ELAPROOF ROOF yhdistelmällä riippuen läpivietävän putken halkaisijasta. ELAPROOF TUKIKANGAS on saatavissa 100 mm ja 200 mm levyisenä ja ELAPROOF ROOF vahvikekangas on saatavilla 350 mm ja 1000 mm levyisenä. Läpivietävän putken ympärille lattialle on jäätävä vähintään 50 mm läpivientivahviketta. Läpivientivahvikkeen tulee nousta kauluksena vähintään 15 mm läpivietävää putkea vasten.
Liitynnät lattiakivoihin toteutetaan noudattaen kaivonvalmistajan ohjeistusta koskien liityntää massapinnoitteilla. Tarvittaessa kaivoon liitynnässä käytetään apuna ELAPROOF ROOF vahvikekankaasta muotoiltua kappaletta.
Ennen tiivistysten aloittamista ELAPROOF S tulee sekoittaa.
Yhden juoksumetrin (1 jm) tiivistys vaatii n. 0,15 l ELAPROOF S tiivistysmassaa.
Ylösnostot
Pinnoitteen nostaminen ylös seinälle jalkalistaksi toteutetaan myös ennen varsinaisen pinnoitustyön aloittamista. Lattian ja seinän liitoskohtaan asennetaan ELAPROOF S + ELAPROOF TUKIKANGAS yhdistelmä noudattaen edellä annettuja asennusohjeita. Asennuksen kuivuttua siten, ettei ELAPROOF S tiivistysmassa enää vaurioidu kosketuksesta toteutetaan pinnoitteen seinälle jalkalistaksi nostettava osuus.
Vedeneristys
Parvekkeen tai terassin vedeneristyskyvyn varmistaminen toteutetaan ELAPROOF S tiivistysmassalla.
Ennen pinnoittamisen aloittamista ELAPROOF S tiivistysmassa tulee sekoittaa.
Pinnoitus
ELAPROOF S tiivistysmassan kuivuttua toteutetaan lattian pinnoitus käyttäen keskikarkeaa tai karkeaa ELAPROOF + SAND lattiapinnoitetta. Sekoita ELAPROOF + SAND lattiapinnoite ennen käyttöä.
Levitä tämän jälkeen ELAPROOF + SAND lattiapinnoite sileällä teräslastalla kauttaaltaan lattialle. ELAPROOF + SAND lattiapinnoitteen menekki tässä käyttötarkoituksessa on noin 1 – 2 kg/m2 , riippuen valitusta lattiapinnoitteen karkeusasteesta ja alustan tasaisuudesta. Anna lattian kuivua vähintään 12 h ennen pintalakkausta.
Pintalakkaus
Kuivunut ELAPROOF + SAND tuotteella karhennettu lattiapinnoite käsitellään kirkkaalla tai sävytetyllä ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL pintalakalla puhtaanapidon ja huoltamisen helpottamiseksi.
Pintalakkauksessa sekoitetaan ensin pintalakan komponentti A 1 – 2 minuuttia, tämän jälkeen lisätään sekoitettuun A-komponenttiin kovettaja komponentti B ja sekoitetaan uudelleen 2-3 minuuttia. Käytä sekoitukseen esim. COLLOMIX KR sarjan lankavispilää.
Seos levitetään kuivuneen ELAPROOF+ SAND pinnoitteen päälle lyhytnukkaisella telalla (6 – 7 mm) ristiin telaamalla. Pintalakan menekki on n. 110 – 200 g/m2 /levityskerta, riippuen valitun ELAPROOF + SAND pinnoitteen karkeusasteesta. Pintalakka on kävelykuiva n. 16 h kuluttua olosuhteissa + 20 °C, 50 % RH. Täysi mekaanisen rasituksen kesto saavutetaan em. olosuhteissa n. 4 vrk:n päästä sekä täysi kemiallinen kesto n. 7 vrk:n päästä.

6.11 Kosteusrasitetun betonilattian pinnoitus ENG
Pinnoituksen kokonaissuunnittelu on aina kohdekohtaisen suunnittelijan vastuulla.
Alustan kunnostus
Tiivistykset
Tarpeen vaatiessa kaikkien rakenteellisten liitos- ja rajakohtien kuten lattian ja seinän liitos, läpiviennit, pilarit sekä mahdollisten lattiakaivojen yms. tiivistykset toteutetaan ELAPROOF INDOOR + ELAPROOF TUKIKANGAS yhdistelmällä.
Ennen tiivistysten aloittamista ELAPROOF INDOOR tulee sekoittaa.
Yhden juoksumetrin (1 jm) tiivistys vaatii n. 0,15 l ELAPROOF INDOOR-massaa.
0,5 mm, jolloin kokonaismenekiksi muodostuu n. 1,2 l/m2 . Toteutuneen kuivakalvonpaksuuden tulee olla min. 0,6 mm.
ELAPROOF pinnoituskertojen välinen kuivumisaika sekä sateen kestävyys riippuvat suuresti alustan imukykyisyydestä sekä asennuspaikalla vallitsevista olosuhteista. Olosuhteiden ollessa n. + 20 °C, 50 % RH voidaan toinen levityskerta suorittaa n. 5 h kuluttua ensimmäisestä levityksestä. Matalampi lämpötila ja korkeampi ilmankosteus pidentävät merkittävästi kuivumisaikaa. Sateen kestävyys saavutetaan yleensä yllä mainituissa olosuhteissa n. 3 h kuluttua.
Pinnoitus
Ennen pinnoittamisen aloittamista ELAPROOF + SAND lattiapinnoite tulee sekoittaa.
Pohjustettu alusta pinnoitetaan ELAPROOF + SAND (M1 / EC 1) lattiapinnoitteella. Pinnoite levitetään alustaan teräslastalla.
ELAPROOF + SAND lattiapinnoite levitetään alustaan kahdella erillisellä levityskerralla. Kunkin levityskerran menekin tulee olla vähintään n. 1,0 kg/m2 jolloin kokonaismenekiksi muodostuu vähintään 2,0 kg/m2 . Toteutuneen kuivakalvonpaksuuden tulee olla min. 1,0 mm. ELAPROOF + SAND pinnoituskertojen välinen kuivumisaika riippuvat suuresti asennuspaikalla vallitsevista olosuhteista. Olosuhteiden ollessa n. + 20 °C, 50 % RH voidaan toinen levityskerta suorittaa n. 5 h kuluttua ensimmäisestä levityksestä. Matalampi lämpötila ja korkeampi ilmankosteus pidentävät merkittävästi kuivumisaikaa. Kahteen kertaan levitetty ELAPROOF + SAND lattiapinnoitus on jatkokäsittelykelpoinen n. 12 h kuluttua olosuhteissa + 20 °C, 50 % RH.
Pintalakkaus
Kuivunut ELAPROOF pinnoite käsitellään kirkkaalla ELACOAT TOPCOAT tai sävytetyillä ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL pintalakoilla puhtaanapidon ja huoltamisen helpottamiseksi. Yksivärisiksi jäävissä lattioissa suosittelemme pintalakkausta sävytetyllä ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL pintalakalla mahdollisten ELAPROOF + SAND pinnoitteen värierojen tasaamiseksi. Hiutaloiduissa lattioissa suosittelemme tekemään hiutaloinnin ELAPROOF PVA värihiutaleilla märkään ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL pintalakkaan ja kuivumisen jälkeen suorittamaan viimeistelylakkauksen kirkkaalla ELACOAT TOPCOAT pintalakalla.
Pintalakkauksessa sekoitetaan ensin pintalakan komponentti A 1 – 2 minuuttia, tämän jälkeen lisätään sekoitettuun A-komponenttiin kovettaja komponentti B ja sekoitetaan uudelleen 2-3 minuuttia. Käytä sekoitukseen esim. COLLOMIX KR sarjan lankavispilää.
Seos levitetään kuivuneen ELAPROOF pinnoitteen päälle lyhytnukkaisella telalla (6 – 7 mm) ristiin telaamalla. Täysi mekaanisen rasituksen kesto saavutetaan em. olosuhteissa n. 4 vrk:n päästä sekä täysi kemiallinen kesto n. 7 vrk:n päästä.
HUOM! Jotkut ELAPROOF TOPCOAT RAL pintalakkojen värisävyt saattavat vaatia 2 – 3 käsittelykertaa riittävän peittoasteen saavuttamiseksi! Katso erillinen taulukko ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL pintalakkojen peittävyydestä.

4.1 Chipboard- / OSB wall coating (dry rooms)
General
This coating work method is indicative and deals with the coating of a chipboard- / OSB wall with the ELAPROOF + SAND system. The ELAPROOF + SAND wall covering system consists of ELAPROOF PRIMER primer, ELAPROOF + SAND wall covering and ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL / ELACOAT TOPCOAT topcoat
The coating work method is not a repair plan or a construction plan. The overall design of the coating is always the responsibility of the site-specific designer.
Platform refurbishment
In areas to be renovated, all possible moisture-sensitive adhesive residues must be removed from the chipboard- / OSB floor. Any loose floor screeds must also be removed in their entirety.
Any gaps between the boards, screw holes and cracks in the board surfaces must be filled / levelled with a wall level suitable for chipboard- / OSB surfaces. A wall level suitable for chipboard surfaces should also be used for possible over-levelling. When using screeds, also check with the floor screed manufacturer for a suitable primer.
Primer
Prior to coating, cleaned and repaired chipboard- / OSB substrates are primed with ELAPROOF PRIMER without the addition of water. Allow the primer to dry completely before applying ELAPROOF + SAND. The purpose of the primer is to seal the surface of the chipboard from the moisture released by the incoming coating.
Chipboard walls painted with a good quality primer do not need to be primed separately. Old primer or topcoat coats can be sanded mechanically or treated with suitable washing liquid to ensure adhesion of ELAPROOF + SAND Wall covering. In these cases, it is also recommended to carry out a separate adhesion test before treating larger areas, to ensure that the adhesion between ELAPROOF + SAND Wall covering and the paint and at the same time sufficient adhesion of the original paint to the substrate after the coating is applied.
Coating
Before starting the coating, the ELAPROOF + SAND Wall covering must be mixed. Use a mixing paddle in the mixer that does not take air into the sealant when mixing, eg COLLOMIX KR series mixing paddle.
The primed substrate is coated with ELAPROOF + SAND (M1 / EC 1) wall coating. The coating is applied to the substrate with a steel spatula.
ELAPROOF + SAND Wall covering is applied to the substrate in two separate applications. The consumption of each application must be at least approx. 1.0 kg / m2, in which case the total consumption is at least 2.0 kg / m2. The actual dry film thickness must be min. 1.0 mm.
The drying time between coats of ELAPROOF + SAND depends largely on the conditions at the installation site. At conditions of approx. + 20 °C, 50% RH can be applied a second time approx. 5 h after the first application. Lower temperatures and higher humidity significantly extend the drying time.
The ELAPROOF + SAND Wall covering applied twice can be applied after approx. 12 hours in conditions + 20 °C, 50 % RH.
Topcoat
The dried ELAPROOF coating is treated with clear ELACOAT TOPCOAT or tinted ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL topcoats to facilitate cleaning and maintenance. For monochromatic floors, we recommend top coating with tinted ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL topcoat to even out any colour differences in the ELAPROOF + SAND coating. On flaked floors, we recommend flaking with ELAPROOF PVA paint flakes on wet ELACOAT TOPCOAT RAL topcoat and, after drying, finishing with clear ELACOAT TOPCOAT topcoat.
110 – 200 g / m2 / application, depending on the degree of roughness of the selected ELAPROOF + SAND coating.
